Must I trust the Licensor checked to make sure the invention can be patented?
  • Please check yourself too..! You can start online now by visiting www.FreePatentsOnline.com
  • Patent applications are published within 18 months from filing. One can check if their patent pending invention is patentable more easily after this 18-month period.
  • The time period from filing a patent application to receiving a patent can last many years. In technologies such as software, biotechnology and communications, patent office backlogs often results in a two year (or longer) delay for an application to be rewarded a patent. However, inventors often find — or would like to find — others who are interested in licensing a technology before the patent issues.

Exclusive or Non-Exclusive License?
A: We offer exclusive licenses because to satisfy the licensee. But most licensors prefer a non-exclusive license because:
  • The licensor is not dependent on the success of one licensee. This is especially the case with a long-term license.
  • The licensor loses control to the licensee.
